The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri raised nearly $10,000 during its fifth annual Putting “Fore” The Kids Golf Tournament, presented by the WK Family of Dealerships and Kohl’s.

Held Saturday at Royal Oaks Golf Course in Knob Noster, the event featured 15 golf teams competing for prizes and bragging rights, all to benefit the Boys & Girls Club, which served more than 1,700 children last year and saw an average of 625 each day.

“We’re so thankful to the sponsors, golfers and volunteers who helped make the tournament such a success,” said Special Events Director Andrea Mason. “Golf tournaments and fundraisers like this are a great way to bring together communities and help shine a spotlight on the important work we’re doing at Boys & Girls Club every day.”

Shooting a 54 and earning themselves first place were Darren Pannier, Steve Shiner, Jeff Hanes and Dennis Paul. Second place with a score of 57 when to Dave Sandberg, Kitty Sandberg, Dave Beebe and Blake Smith. Third place was a tie at 58, but the tie-breaker went to Ethan Henson, Todd Hudson, Jerry Fillinger and Charles Brogdon.

Closest to the pin winner was Dave Sandberg who took home $150 courtesy of the West Central Association of Realtors; longest drive winner was Blake Smith who won a prize package courtesy of County Distributing.
