Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is hoping to attract a bigger audience willing to “bid from the heart” thanks to a mobile bidding platform to be used at its biggest fundraiser of the year – An Evening of Heart & Hope, presented by W-K Chevrolet.

The mobile bidding system is designed to be used by anyone, not just those in attendance at the auction. Through a special link  https://e.gesture.com/events/5tC/  anyone can register and bid on items beginning today and running through the evening of Feb. 4.

“What’s great about mobile bidding is that anyone will be able to bid on any of our 60 Silent Auction items, right from their smart phone or computer,” said Communications Director Emily Jarrett. “You can be sitting at home on your couch bidding against someone at our event for the same basket – all for our great cause.”

Silent Auction baskets range from sports memorabilia to beauty packages to original artwork or home maintenance. Once registered, mobile bidders will have a chance to explore all the Silent Auction packages and begin bidding on them. Users have an option to receive a text alert if they are outbid and/or set a maximum bid amount to let the bidding platform do all the work.

“All of the money raised comes back to Boys & Girls Club which sees an average of 650 children every day after school at our 11 Club sites,” Jarrett said. “We’re hoping that people will not only be excited about the wonderful auction packages available but also for raising money for a local cause.”
