Brinda Rose Barr, 61, of Overland Park, KS, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in Kansas City, KS. She was born on February 1, 1951, in rural Phelps County, Missouri, a daughter of Arwood M. and Edna M. (Shimp) Barr.

Brinda worked as a certified nurses’ aide for Enhanced Home Care in Overland Park, KS. She enjoyed working as a beautician and florist. Brinda liked to go fishing, boating and spending time with her daughter and granddaughters.

She is survived by:one daughter, Karla Lynn Hockaday of Kennett, MO;
seven sisters, Wanda Reno, Janet Goldey, and Carol Deubler, all of Sedalia, Judy Manley of Columbia, Nancy Thompson of Lebanon, and Debbie Carlton of Cocoa, FL, and Mary Barr of Mexico;

three granddaughters, Alisha Lynn Hockaday, Tiffany Lynn Hockaday, and Railyn Marcine Dunn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arwood and Edna Barr and a sister Joyce Ann in infancy.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, following visitation, at Brushy Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
