Rolling into Sedalia to settle a grudge, Brian Brown let everyone know who the top dog was as the FVP / Casey’s General Store No. 21 returned to Victory Lane with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings and Wraps at the Missouri State Fair Speedway.

Topping the night’s Grudge Match over uncle, Danny Lasoski, the Grain Valley native gridded the A-Feature third. Trailing Jonathan Cornell, the Kiowa Line Builders No. 28 looked to be well his way to victory No. 6 on the season with the Warrior Region, but it was not meant to be as the engine let go after leading the first 11 laps.

With Brown inheriting the lead, the restart saw Danny Lasoski on his back bumper, but Brown would not be denied victory at the “Historic Half-Mile,” which counts as Brown’s 44th overall with the ASCS Warrior Region on a "Night of Stars."

Lasoski held on to a runner-up finish with Corey Nelson third. Austin Alumbaugh crossed fourth with Taylor Walton making up the top-five. Evan Martin was sixth with Tyler Blank, Matt Close, Scott Comstock and Tony Bruce, Jr. completing the top 10.

Sedalia's Jonathan Cornell added a third consecutive Clyde Wood Memorial win to his resume this past Sunday to extend his points lead to 350 over Evan Martin. With 11 overall wins on the season, five of those have come in ASCS Warrior competition. Cornell was presented with the 2016 ASCS Warrrior Series Champion award Thursday night.

A two-car crash in turn one took out Tyler Blank of California and Kevin Ulmer of Sedalia, with Blank cascading over the railing between turns two and three. He walked away apparently unhurt. The wreck stalled the program until workers picked up all the pieces strewn on the dirt track.

The Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps hits the track again with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington on Saturday, Aug. 20. The weekend finishes with the $15,000 to win High Roller Classic at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Austin Seibert of Grandview took the trophy in the USRA Modifieds feature Thursday night in his black & white #16 car. A spinout in turn three by contender Jim Moody paved the way for Siebert's victory.
