California Woman Suffers Moderate Injuries in 2-car Crash in Cole County

A California woman suffered moderate injuries after a 2-vehicle accident that occurred in Cole County this morning just before 9 a.m.

26-year-old Darren L. Holder of Tipton was the driver of an eastbound 2010 Chevy Impala on US 50, a quarter-mile east of Lookout Trail when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The Chevy then returned to the roadway and struck the rear of an eastbound 1999 Buick Century driven by 42-year-old Stephen C. Lovell of Centertown. The Chevy then came to rest of the right sdie of the roadway.

Holder's pasenger, 26-year-old Gina L. Belt of California had moderate injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to SSM Health by private vehicle. Belt was wearing a safety device, according to the report.

Both vehicles had minor damage.
