Sedalia Police arrested a 31-year-old Sedalia man after a vehicle pursuit that occurred on Saturday night on the east side of town.

An officer attempted to stop a van near 7th and Emmett shortly after 9 p.m., but the vehicle sped up and fled the area and vehicle pursuit began.

The suspect, Jeremy M. Lawson, exited the van while it was still moving at Broadway & Marshall and fled on foot. The van continued to travel on before striking a mailbox and a parked vehicle before coming to rest on East 9th Street.

Lawson was arrested near Broadway and Marshall and later taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold. He was later charged with five counts – Driving While Suspended, Felony Resisting Arrest, Careless Driving, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Failure to Register with the DOR.
