The Roadrunners hosted the Mineral Area College Cardinals, the fifth-ranked NJCAA Division I men's team, on Jan. 28 at the Fred E. Davis Center. SFCC (11-11, 0-4 in Region 16, 2-4 in the MCCAC) fell 79-52.

The Cardinals went on a 9-0 run to make the score 19-8 with less than 13 minutes left in the first half. At halftime the Roadrunners trailed 38-23. SFCC struggled shooting, making only 34 percent of their field-goal attempts.

"We didn't make our shots," said head coach Kevin Thomas. "We had good looks, but we just couldn't knock them down."

Freshman guard Onteral Woodson Jr. led in scoring with 17 points and registered a team-high four steals. Freshman guard Colton Kolowski contributed 13 points. Freshman guard Russell Baker pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Vonny Irvin dished out a team-high three assists. Sophomore forward Amir Smith led in blocked shots with three.

The Roadrunners travel Council Bluffs tonight (Jan. 31) to take on the Iowa Western Community College Reivers. Tipoff is 7 p.m. Listen live at KSISradio.com starting at 6:50 p.m. for the pre-show of the men's game.
