You read it right. St. Louis and Chicago are in the running for games to be played in London next year. Major Leage Baseball is considering the game.

According to a story from the Associated Press (AP), a Cardinals-Cubs series is being considered. A poll run on Twitter by the AP had the Cubs-Cards series leading as the preferred matchup. More than half of the first 3,600 votes had selected Cubs-Cards.

According to a story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Cardinals had expressed interest in traveling for an international series in 2020 and the club expressed that to the commissioner's office.

In an article from the Cardinals' Anne Carroll, this April the Cardinals will play Cincinnati in Mexico, and other places they submitted early interest in playing were Havana (for a spring exhibition), London, and Puerto Rico. They're in the running for the latter two in 2020.

According to baseball's current Collective Bargaining Agreement, the 2020 season will feature a opening series in Asia, early-season series in Mexico and Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic, and a June series in London.
