The following cases were heard by Senior Judge Gary W. Fleming during the June 2 Law Day docket: Information supplied by the office of Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Mittlehauser.

 

Gary Brown 44 of Sedalia, was sentenced to serve 120 days in jail after pleading guilty to stealing.  An employee of the Sedalia Walmart store stopped the defendant February 4 as he tried to take over $500 worth of merchandise from the store.  Sedalia Police Officers found additional stolen property on the defendant after the arrest.

 

22-year-old Kent Cline Jr., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to serve 3 years in prison.  Sedalia Police Detectives found cocaine in the defendant’s pocket after an April 4 arrest.  His probation was revoked on an earlier forgery charge.

 

Teresa Colby  38 of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon, admitting that on November 10 she threatened a friend with a knife.  She was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail.

 

Tyreel, Hardy 28 of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and property damage in the first degree.  On March 2, Sedalia Police Officers found methamphetamine and alprazolam in the defendant’s possession when he arrested the defendant on an outstanding warrant.  The property damage charge arose from a July 13 incident in which the window of a vehicle parked on 16th Street was broken with a brick.  The defendant was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.

 

20-year-old Kendra Schroeder of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was placed on probation for 5 years. Schroeder admitted to a Pettis County Sheriff’s Sgt. that in September and October of 2013, she sold over $500 of metal knowing it had been stolen from a local factory.  While on probation, the defendant will be required to pay restitution and serve 15 days in jail as shock detention.

 

Derek VanHook age 26 of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance.  While investigating a disturbance on December 29, Sedalia Police Officers found a baggie of methamphetamine the defendant tried to put down a sink.  The case was continued to June 11 for sentencing.

 

Dylan Zane 18 of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and several traffic offenses which occurred during a pursuit January 21.  Sedalia Police Officers attempted to stop the defendant at Main and Missouri, but the defendant fled north on Missouri, then north on Highway 65.  The defendant drove back into Sedalia with other officers now in pursuit before abandoning his vehicle on foot near 5th and Warren.  Execution of 4 year sentences was suspended for the felony resisting arrest charges and the defendant was placed on probation for 5 years.  He was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail for the misdemeanors of leaving the scene of an accident and DWI.
