Sedalia Power Outage Reported Due To Downed Power Line

Around 12:45 this afternoon (July 27), the Sedalia Fire Department responded to a downed power line at 3rd and Lafayette. Part of the downtown area lost power as a result of the downed line, including Sedalia's city hall.

Early Morning Train Fatality in Sedalia, Reported as Suicide [PHOTOS]

Police responded to a call from Union Pacific Railroad of a woman who had been hit by a train early this morning (July 20) on Sedalia's east side near 4th and Garfield.  Witnesses say that the woman stood in front of the train intentionally.

Fire Destroys Mark Twain Apartment Building [AUDIO]

UPDATE: KSIS's Jack Miller spoke with Sedalia Police Battalion Chief Paul Withers this morning (July 19), who updated us on the fire that destroyed the Mark Twain Apartment Building last night. Withers says that the building has not fallen down, and the blaze has been tamed despite several "hot spots" at the building.  Police have blocked off the building  and the public is being asked to avoid the area.

A fire that began around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 has destroyed the Mark Twain Apartments Building at 800 West Second Street in Sedalia.  According to officials on the scene, the fire may have started as a result of construction crews working on a tenant's apartment on the upper level of the northeast corner of the building.
