Create a Dog Agility Course in Your Backyard or Garden

Dogs, as the saying goes, are man’s best friend, so it's only right and logical that we might want to spend some quality time with our buds. Walks in the park and tossing the Frisbee on the beach are great, but if you really want to engage the human-canine relationship—and have a really good time while you’re at it—you might want to think about setting up a dog agility course in your backyard or garden.

Thunder Chickens, Crappie Fishin’ and Fishing for a Cure

What can I say?  I give up on this weather.  What do you do when you get up on the first weekend of turkey season and it's 35 degrees outside?  Well, you put on more clothes, grab your swamp boots and maybe a boat to get to that field those thunder chickens have been strutting in.  It's going to be fun.

Youth Turkey Huntin’, Crappie Fishin’ and Wounded Warriors Hunt

I've started my blog posts with the weather every day for the last two months.  I thought the crazy weather changes were over and done with.  I can deal with a 15-20 degree temperature change, this IS Missouri.  But come on, from the 70s to the 30s?  This is just ridiculous.

Woman’s Last Wish to Euthanize Her Dog and Bury It With Her

I know many of you are animal lovers and treat your dog or cat as a member of the family. I know I'm very pet friendly and can't remember a very long period of time without one. This morning, I read this story of a woman who had died as a result of cancer at the age of 68. She requested that her guide dog be buried with her. I'm thinking that sounds like a good request that when a person dies, they would like whenever their dog or cat dies to be buried with the owner. However, that is not what was requested. She had her guide dog euthanized and buried with her for her funeral.

Man Buys Poodles, Discovers They’re Actually Ferrets on Steroids

This is not a joke. A man at the largest outdoor bazaar in Buenos Aires bought two toy poodles from a vendor for $150 each. Only he didn't actually buy two poodles. He actually bought two ferrets that were hopped up on steroids and given fancy hairdos so they would look like poodles.

Fishin’ Reports and Turkey Season for Youth

The weather is looking up and it seems like the weather roller coaster is over.  I hope they shut it down.  Well, let's start with some fishin'.  Where are they catching them?  In the water.  No really, they are.

Ham and Bean Dinner Supports the Sedalia Animal Shelter

As we all know, I am a sucker for animals.  Just last week, the boyfriend and I nearly walked away with a dog after an adoption event.  But rest assured, we walked away without the dog, and only because it's not feasible NOW to get one.  We will have a dog when we're not living in a one bedroom apartment.
