I think that many of us who live here in Pettis County and the Sedalia area are folks who have been here most of our lives.  Sure, there's some people who have come in from other towns or out of state, but more often than not, I see the same people here that were here 10 years ago.  That's part of what keeps our tradition and our heritage rich.

Gov. Jay Nixon spoke at the annual ham breakfast at the 2013 Missouri State Fair this morning (Aug. 15). The governor lead off his speech with comments concerning the rodeo clown in the Obama mask. As expected, that part of his speech was short and to the point before he went on to praise Missourians who reflect the best of Missouri's character.
