After years of struggling against the odds and barely surviving in a rapidly changing world, Blockbuster announced that it's officially set to close the remainder of its US stores. For some, this is a day or mourning. For others, a day of celebration. Official Attendance of 2013 Missouri State Fair Shows Increase Over Last Year

(SEDALIA, Mo.) – Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe announced today (Oct. 28) an attendance of 366,218 at this year’s 11 day event.  The figure reflects an increase of more than three percent from last year, and an upward trend in attendance since Wolfe assumed his position in 2009.  This positive direction has had a ripple effect on the Fair’s revenue generating streams, including the campground and carnival operations, helping to put the State Fair on a more solid financial footing.

LA MONTE, Mo. (Oct. 21, 2013) – Students in the La Monte R-IV School District will soon be working with one of the most vital tools in the agriculture industry. Thanks to the support of local farmers and America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, La Monte R-IV received a $10,000 grant to purchase GPS systems, which will help students complete fertilizer applications, seed germinations and yield analyses. Students will experiment with the technology on a nearby field to learn about precision agriculture.
