Today is day 11 of the Missouri State Fair, and is the final day too! Today is Fair Finale/Half Price Day where you can get in for $4 adult admission all day and $1 for kids ages 6-12. It's also Celebrate Law Enforcement Day where it is free gate admission for Municipal/County/State Law Enforcement with appropriate I.D. and $1 gate admission for immediate family members.
Just before the Missouri State Fair, Bruce had what he described as "Fair Voice" already, as he has started going hoarse. Each year it seems we at at the radio station fight it. This year I have managed to avoid it, but today it hit with a vengeance just before introducing Bush Hawg on the Bud Tent. The 2012 Missouri State Fair, marks the 50th anniversary of the Missouri State Fair Volunteer Fire Department, who are the most unique firefighters in the state. The reason for this is because the department itself only exists for two weeks out of the year during the Missouri State Fair.
One of the major backbones of any county or state fair is the 4-H organization, which has its own building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds to showcase all the county winners for things like art, photography, quilting, baking, cooking and much more.
