Missouri State Fair Aims to Increase Canned Food Collections in 2013

The Missouri State Fair will be increasing its efforts to collect canned food this year as it joins in a challenge presented by its industry trade association. Fair Director Mark Wolfe said today that members of the International Association of Fairs and Festivals have been invited to participate in its campaign, Dream Big, which has set an industry-wide goal of collecting 20 million pounds of food at fairs and festivals held in 2013.

This week Dale Malone from Dukes & Boots posed a question on Facebook about what new foods you'd like to see on the menu. This last Wednesday at lunch, a bunch of our staff got together for the KIX 105 Wednesday lunch and discussed some of the great things that could be brought to the table. Our Events Coordinator Leslee is currently going through the Healthy U Program and we started talking about how it would be interesting if a bar and grill took a healthy way of thinking, one that would surprise people that it was on the menu and would still be unique to Sedalia.

Welcome back in to another edition of "Would You Rather Wednesday." After all the rain here in West Central Missouri, everything is so green and in bloom. While it's nice to have the warm weather, it also means many people are constantly fighting off their allergies. Personally my allergies are not too bad, but I still need to keep tissues near by. You hate to be the person with a runny nose because while it annoys you, it also annoys the people around you. People get annoyed by the person who sniffles all day at work. Missouri Firm Recalls Lasagna Products Due To Misbranding and Undeclared Allergen

WASHINGTON – Vocci Italian Food Products, a Kansas City, Mo. establishment is recalling approximately 2,025 pounds of lasagna products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The products are formulated with bread crumbs that contain egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.
