Will You Be Partying on Thanksgiving Eve? [POLL]

The night before Thanksgiving is generally considered to be the biggest bar night of the year. Most everybody has the next day off, friends and family you don't always get to see are in town, and nobody wants to entertain at home when they're going to be doing so much cooking the next day. So everyone goes out to party!

Thanksgiving Trick-Or-Treaters from the 1920s are Super Creepy [PHOTOS]

I found a pretty interesting article about a weird Thanksgiving tradition from the past.  About 100 years ago, kids didn't go trick-or-treating on Halloween, they did it on Thanksgiving. It was called "Thanksgiving Masking."  Kids would dress up as beggars and hobos, wear masks and go door-to-door for candy and pennies. No one's exactly sure when it ended, but it lasted in some areas through the 1920s.

Doug Bakes an Apple Pie for Child Safe’s Celebrity Dessert Auction

This year I promised Carolyn Green of Child Safe that I would bake something for the celebrity dessert auction this year. Usually I'm away for the Thanksgiving Holiday and wouldn't be able to bake something. This year I'm sticking around Missouri and decided that a good ol' apple pie would be the way to go. I am pleased to at least show you the apple pie that I made and hope you go out to the Celebration Center at 5:30 tonight (Nov. 26) and bid on it, knowing it's going to help out Child Safe.

Pink Stuff

Tell Us Your Weird Thanksgiving Food Traditions [SURVEY]

Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and I have my elastic sweatpants ready! Thanksgiving is known for turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls and dressing, but I have an aunt that brings pink stuff every Thanksgiving. I don't eat it, I never have, I don't even know what's in it, and the fact that it's called pink stuff frightens me. I figured I couldn't be the only one who had a family member bring something out of the ordinary to each Thanksgiving meal.

Sedalia Remembers Lost Loved Ones with BRHC’s Tree Of Memories

The Holiday season can definitely be a season full of joy and happiness.  It's a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate their good  fortune.  Part of that, at least for me, is remembering the past and those who have influenced us.  Sadly, families get smaller every year, and sometimes those families are touched by cancer, heart disease, or other ailments.  You can remember those you've lost with a great memorial at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
