St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter today (Nov. 20) announced his retirement as an active player, concluding a 15-year Major League career that included a Cy Young award in 2005, the National League’s ERA title in 2009 - the same year he was named the N.L.’s Comeback Player of the Year, three All-Star selections (2005, 2006 & 2010) and 144 career wins, 95 of which came while pitching for St. Louis.

Leading Automotive Parts Supplier to Bring 118 Jobs to Kansas City, Gov. Nixon Announces

KANSAS CITY – Missouri’s resurgent automotive industry is bringing another leading automotive parts supplier and more jobs to the Kansas City region, Gov. Jay Nixon announced today.  Grupo Antolin North America will invest more than $15.7 million in a 150,000 square-foot automotive manufacturing facility to supply Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant, creating an estimated 118 new jobs.

I love board games. They're a great way to bring the family together. It's also a great way to tear your family apart. Here is my list of the top five board games that tend to end badly.

 

1. MonopolyPossibly the world's best known board game, and also the most frustrating. Monopoly is a slow burn. After hours of seeing your opponents avoid your properties while you have to pony up cash them over and over, swelling their bank accounts while yours dwindles away... I think more often than not a game of Monopoly ends in a flipped board or storming off then the game actually finishing.
