Mules Golf Captures NCAA-II Super Regional Crown
The Central Missouri Mules fired a final round 285 on Wednesday to come from behind and win the NCAA-II Midwest/Central Super Regional with a three-round total of five-under par 859 at The Club at Strawberry Creek. Freshman Robby Hughey won the individual crown with a 13-under par 203.
Victory in Europe Day Remembered in Sedalia [PHOTOS]
May 8 is a significant day, although it may not be featured on every single calendar. It is the anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, or V-E Day. This is the anniversary of the end of hostilities during World War II in Europe, which ceased in 1945. The Sedalia VFW recognized and thanked World War II veterans for their service today (May 8).
Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder Presents Sedalian with Senior Service Award
Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder announced 35 winners of the Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award today (May 8), including Anna Lee Bail of Sedalia.
Lt. Governor Kinder presented the awards at a luncheon for the winners and their guests outside his office in the Capitol. Bail was nominated by Rep. Stanley Cox of Sedalia.
Should Women Without Kids Receive Mother’s Day Gifts? [POLL]
Over the weekend, I overheard a woman going on and on about what she wanted for Mother's Day. Diamond earrings, a few hours at the spa and a nice dinner out. Except for one small detail: she didn't have any kids! I almost fell out of my chair when the lady she was with asked, "Your husband does all that and you guys don't even have kids?"
Apparently, they have an agreement that because she could theoretically have kids, she should get a Mother's Day present. Is it just me or is that a little...weird?

Sedalia Holds Homecoming for Missouri National Guard’s 35th Combat Aviation Brigade [PHOTOS]
Families, friends and supporters gathered at the Mathewson Exhibition Center this morning as 120 soldiers of the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade of the Missouri National Guard returned from Kuwait. Governor Jay Nixon welcomed back the soldiers on behalf of Missouri and was proud of their efforts. Nixon said he appreciates the honor, courage, duty, a love of country that these men and women displayed and believes families and friends should be proud of their service.
