The NFL Should Not Delay Games for Weather [OPINION]

The NFL season is young, but I'm already seeing a trend this year that I really don't want to see anymore. There have already been three games delayed or suspended due to weather. The NFL used to play games in any condition. Last Sunday (Sept. 15), there were two delays; Tampa Bay vs New Orleans and then San Francisco vs Seattle.

What is Your Favorite Video Game Ever? [SURVEY]

Earlier this week it was National Video Game Day. I'm a huge video game nerd AND I play all kinds of different games, from RPGs to sports games, from the Super Nintendo to the Xbox 360. I don't even want to know how many hours of my life I've spent playing video games. What I didn't know was that Doug is an even bigger video game nerd.

Should Sedalia School Board Be Able to Continue the Athletic Complex Proposal Without Full Private Funds? [POLL]

There have been a lot of people that asked questions about the new Smith-Cotton High School stadium being proposed. While many have said that the complex has become outdated and needs upgrades or replacing, some have pointed out that in the process of the Sedalia School District getting the tax levy to build the high school, the athletic complex was cut out of the project in order for the levy to pass after it failed several times. It's their opinion the project shouldn’t be done with any public funds.

Emergency Personnel Ride in Funeral Procession to Honor Local Paramedic Kenny M. Stone [PHOTOS]

Today (Aug. 29), emergency personnel in Sedalia helped lay to rest one of their own. Kenny M. Stone passed away in the line of duty on Aug. 23, 2013. Kenny served our community as a paramedic. He most recently worked for APSI in Sedalia, but had spent a career serving at the Sni-Valley Volunteer Fire Department where he was assistant chief, as well as Oak Grove EMS and Lifeguard Ambulance. What Do You Do on Your Staycation? [SURVEY]

Coming up next week, I'm gonna take a few days off.  It's been a while since I've done that; it seems like there was always more reason not to then reasons to go for it.  So now, after Labor Day, there'll be another four Behkaless days - whether that's good or bad for the people I work with is another question for another day.

Pettis County Needs an Urgent Care Center [OPINION]

The Missouri State Fair time frame usually brings about some sort of health issue with me. The last two years of the fair I've lost my voice, and this year I injured my ankle. I did not get injured on the job either, just took a bad step and it hurt a lot. It appears that I have sprained it. On last Friday afternoon, it really started to bug me. I had countless people tell me I need to go get it checked out. Only one problem: in Sedalia after 5 p.m. on any given Friday, you can only go to to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room for a checkup.
