Cecil Dale Baggs, 89, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

He was born May 21, 1923, in Carroll County, Mo., son of Earl and Carrie Estel Allen Baggs. On August 2, 1942, he married Jane Irene Ray, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Baggs owned and operated a drapery shop, worked at Sears in Kansas City for many years, and also was a cook at John's Cafe in Otterville for many years. He was a member of First Christian Church in Brookfield.

Surviving are two sons, Barry Allan Baggs, of Sedalia, David Kevin Baggs, of Kirksville; a daughter, Linda Susan Renshaw, of Macon; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Ruth Edwards, of Carrollton, and Maxine Wagaman, of Blue Springs.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Renshaw; and a brother, Harold Baggs.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Viola Rhoads officiating.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
