Charles (Charlie) Duane Antoine, 81, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO, where he had been a resident for four years.

He was born May 4, 1931 in Sedalia, MO, one of five children of Marie and Julius Antoine.  On May 10, 1952, he was united in marriage to Frances Kathryn Jaeger at Smithton, MO, who survives of the home.

Charlie enlisted in the US armed forces in 1946 and was a WWII veteran, serving three years in Japan.  After discharge, he served an additional 24 years of inactive duty with various branches of the military.  He went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1952, and spend most of his career in Sedalia, MO, retiring after 35 years of service.  He was a member of the Ararat Shrine, Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge and Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances of Sedalia, MO; daughter and son in law, Carolee and Jim Gipson of San Antonio, TX; son and daughter in law, Kyle and Mary Antoine of Kirksville, MO; grandchildren, Nicole and Travis Gipson of San Antonio, TX, Whitney Antoine of St Louis, MO, and Garrett Antoine of Kirksville, MO; sister and brother in law, Juanita and Emery Eklund of Miltonvale, KS; brother and sister in law, Julius and Melodie Antoine of Oakland, CA; brother, Gerald Antoine of Sedalia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darrell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, December 19, 2012 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
Burial service will be at the Smithton cemetery with the VFW Post 2591 conducting military honors.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home-Warrensburg or First United Methodist Church (Celebration Center), Sedalia, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
