Charles Edwin Lynch Jr., age 64, died unexpectedly from a heart condition on October 10, 2014 while visiting family in Georgia. Chuck was born on March 30, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Charles Edwin and Naomi Gooch Lynch, who preceded him in death.

Chuck grew up in Camden, South Carolina. Following graduation from Camden High School, he attended Georgia Tech University where his love of photography and technology began. He and Karen met in Atlanta and married on February 17, 1978, blending two daughters into a family. Together, they had a son, Charlie.

He began his long career in the photography industry in 1981 at Meisel Professional Lab in Atlanta, and continued with the Hamlin Photo Company, also in Atlanta. In 1989, he and his young family moved to Minneapolis for his work with Lucht Engineering, and five years later they moved to North Carolina for Chuck’s employment with Church Impressions. In 2002, he joined Inter-State Studios in Sedalia, Missouri where he worked until his death.

Chuck is survived by the love of his life, Karen Bradford Lynch of Sedalia, Missouri, son, Charles Edwin Lynch, III, of Sedalia, daughter, Jennifer Jane Lynch, of Los Angeles, California, step-daughter, Valerie Lynn Roper, of Dallas, Texas, and sister, Jane Lynch Coghill, of Charlotte, North Carolina.

An Eagle Scout, Chuck always enjoyed the outdoors, and spent time cycling, traveling, and especially enjoyed going to the beach. He was active in the Sedalia Lions Club, and in living out the goals of the Lions Club mission for “everyone to see a better tomorrow,” his corneas were donated to improve the sight of another person.

To honor Chuck and celebrate his life, family and friends will gather at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at Inter-State Studios.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Sedalia Lions Club in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
