Child Drowns in Northeast Missouri Pond

Authorities say a 1-year-old boy has drowned in a pond at his northeast Missouri home.

KTVO-TV reports that Adair County Coroner Brian Noe identified the victim as Trey Hudson Miller, of Brashear. Noe says Miller was outside playing late Friday afternoon when he got too close to a pond and fell in.

The boy's mother was outside and attempted to save her son. The death has been ruled an accident.
