Jefferson City – Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Chip Langman, of Lexington, as the new Lafayette County Assessor. The position became vacant upon the resignation of Michael Dobson; the Lafayette County Commission appointed Langman to serve on an interim basis.

Langman, a Democrat, owns Big Muddy Ice Cream Company in Lexington and also operates a consulting business. He is the chair of the Lexington Main Street Board and a member of the Lexington Community Betterment Board. Langman also is a volunteer with the Lexington Historical Museum.
“Chip Langman has taken an active role in Lexington as a business owner and in community organizations, and I am pleased to appoint him as the new Assessor,” Gov. Nixon said.
