Raise your hand if you've finished your Christmas shopping...that's what we thought. Not many hands went up.

The Christmas shopping season can be pretty stressful. It's not always easy to come up with gifts that are appreciated.

What are some of the gifts that you can only get in Sedalia (or around the Sedalia area)? Here are a few ideas we came up with. What would you add to the list?

  • Missouri State Fair Tickets

The Missouri State Fair has an advance admission ticket offer available through December 16. Advance adult Missouri State Fair admission tickets are $8 each - that’s a savings of $2 from regular adult admission ticket price. Order your tickets online through Ticketmaster, or call Ticketmaster's dedicated Missouri State Fair customer service phone number: 800-796-6676. The sale ends at 10 p.m. on December 16. All tickets will be mailed to buyers. There is no print at home or mobile delivery option.

  • SFCC Cookbook and Ornament

State Fair Community College has a new cookbook, The Next Chapter, on sale in the Campus Store in Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts on the Sedalia campus. Cookbooks are $10. Also on sale at the Campus Store is a limited edition SFCC 50th anniversary Christmas ornament for $20, which the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce commissioned. The ornament features an image of the Hopkins Student Services Center along with the 50th anniversary logo. Proceeds will go to the 50th anniversary fund.

  • Local Restaurant Certificates

You can get gift cards to pretty much any chain restaurant in America. You can also get cards/certificates for local favorites. Maybe you need a gift for someone that's crazy about Kehde's Barbecue, or Mighty Melt, or Doo's Southside, or maybe they absolutely love Ozark Coffee Company. Chances are there's a gift certificate available for your favorite place. Here's a tip that will save you money: many local restaurants have discount certificates on sale at Seize the Deal.

  • Sedalia History Books

Everyone likes to reminiscence. Sedalia by Becky Imhauser is a book in the Images of Modern America series that came out a couple years ago. We have a copy in our office, and it's fun to thumb through to see what has changed over the years, and what has stayed the same for decades. There are a number of similar books that have been published through the years. Some are of general interest, and others are on more specialized topics. Reader's World and The Katy Depot are good places to check for these types of books.
