City of Sedalia to Observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day
City of Sedalia offices will be closed on Monday, January 15 to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
According to the City's website, weekly trash pickup for the week of January 15 will follow the normal collection schedule. The Materials Management Site on Highway U will also be closed.
The Martin Luther King Day Celebration will take place Monday morning in Sedalia, beginning at 10:00.
According to the City of Sedalia's website, the event will begin with a service at Sacred Heart Church. Shortly after the service, participants may join in a march leading east along 3rd Street, south to Ohio Avenue, west on Main Street, then north on Osage Avenue until everyone reaches the Municipal Building.
When participants reach the Municipal Building, a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place in the Council Chambers.
City offices and the Materials Management Site will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, January 16.
