Clarence "Papa" Edgar Newell, 78, of Cole Camp passed away September 6, 2015 at his home in Cole Camp, MO surrounded by his family.  He was born on September 18, 1936 in Pilot Grove, MO, the son of Alfred Alonzo Newell and Ada Mae Victoria Lindsey, who preceded him in death.

On August 26, 1956 in Pilot Grove, he was united in marriage to Judy Huggins, who survives of the home.

He worked as a truck driver from age 17 until retiring in 1999, at the age of 62. He loved driving and was very proud of his million mile accident free award. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and fishing. Papa's greatest joy was spending time with the love of his life Judy,  his family, who he always put first, and his best friend Buster.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Ron Newell and his wife Donna of Sedalia, Don Newell and his wife Janet of Billings, MO; four daughters, Cindy Reid and her husband Jim of Houstonia, Sheryl Williams of Sedalia, Karen Young and her husband David of Warrensburg, and Barb Giddens and her husband Jeff of Stockbridge, GA; a brother, John Newell and his wife Lunetta of Chilhowee, MO; a sister, Mary Fornshell of Marshall; 23 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and his best friend Buster.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Chenault, Mable Chenault and Edna Young; and two brothers, Jimmy and Norman Newell.

A celebration of life services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Anstine officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial of the ashes will be held at a later date in Pilot Grove Cemetery.

Urn bearers will be his two sons, Ron and Don Newell.
