Personnel from the Henry County Sheriff's Department and the Bates County SWAT team served search and arrest warrants in Clinton, MO Thursday evening.

Authorities served the warrants at 384 SE 701 Road, in Clinton just after 5:00 Thursday evening (Mar 23).

According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff's Department, law enforcement members took 48-year-old Chance D. Bray, of Clinton, into custody on a Henry County warrant for felony property damage.

The case stems from events on March 19, where it is alleged that Bray became very angry and caused significant damage to a vehicle owned by another family member by kicking it, and throwing metal weights against the body and glass of the vehicle.

According to the report, Bray is alleged to have made threats to kill family members and law enforcement officers if they came onto the property. The report states that Bray maintained several weapons in the residence, including a long range high-powered rifle.

"Because of the seriousness of the threats allegedly made by Bray and the weapons in the residence, our office took steps necessary over the past days to minimize the risk to law enforcement officers serving the arrest warrant. The Bates County Sheriff's Office team came to assist us and deployed assets that we do not have in Henry County to assure the safety of everyone involved", Sheriff Oberkrom said.

Several hanguns and a .308 caliber rifle were seized from the residence.

Bray remains in custody at the Henry County Detention Center on a $4,500 bond.
