Ditch the mall and deck the halls for the Jingle and Mingle Shopping Bizarre.  You can do your shopping for the holidays and ensure that kids in our town will have a great season, too! This event will feature over twenty different vendors, working to raise funds for the Community Santa program.  Community Santa is a charitable organizations whose prime focus is making Christmas wishes come true. The process starts with families filling out applications and ensuring that those who truly need help are in fact the ones who get it as well as communicating with other local charities to ensure there is no overlapping. Through this application process volunteer workers will acquire children's wish lists for Christmas. Each child will receive 2 toys off their list, a new book, a family game, and a lovey (stuffed animal). Items are black bagged and given to parents who are then able to wrap the gifts and therefore ensured to be Santa to their child or children.  This needs funding to be sure as many kids as possible are served. That's where the Holiday Bizarre comes in - this is the first time they've done this, and it's all to help the kids.  I got to talk with Rhiannon  Foster and Gloria Allya,  the organizers of the event, about what you can do to help.

Community Santa collects toys and donations for children in our community who are in need.  With your help they want to ensure that every child in our community has the promise of a magical day.  Jingle and Mingle will have drawings for free fabulous items, treats and lots of Holiday Fun.  You can do your holiday shopping and support local businesses.  It’ll take place on Saturday, November 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  below El Espolon 2, 3501 West Broadway.  For more information, contact  Rhiannon at 660-221-0486.

Merrily yours,

Behka
