Sure, baby squirrels are a little weird looking, but so's our cousin Jon, and we don't go around pepper spraying him anytime he approaches a bunch of middle schoolers. (Wait, that sounds weird. You get what we mean....)

The video was taken by a student at Kimbrough Middle School in Mesquite, TX, because apparently middle school students have phones that can record video now. When we were in middle school, we had one phone in the house, and our little sister was always on it. We also wore an onion on our belt, which was the style at the time.

After spraying the baby squirrel in the face with pepper spray, which obviously temporarily disabled it, the squirrel was taken to a shelter and cared for by animal control officers before being released into the wild.

The officer who did the spraying was not punished for his actions, which were deemed reasonable after several attempts to shoo the BABY SQUIRREL away were unsuccessful.

It was a baby squirrel. Cannot stress that enough.
