Counterfeit $100 Bill Passed at Warrensburg Business
The Warrensburg Police Department sent out a notice today to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.
A female tried to pass the above bill at a local business today. This was the second counterfeit $100 bill that this business had received within the past two weeks. The bill says replica twice on the front of it as well as “This note is not legal, it is to be used for motion pictures.” On the back of the bill it says “this is a replica."
The bill feels waxy, but looks good enough that if it was dark or if a clerk was busy the bill might not get detected as being counterfeit.
The female who passed the bill was interviewed about the bill. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor for his review, according to Tom Carey of the Warrensburg Police Department.
