Is there ever going to be a level weather ride?  We've had more ups and downs than the economy.  I finally found out what all of the congressmen have in common.  They all had the same jobs before politics: they were weathermen, which means they all have a degree in B.S.

Anyway, friends of mine are catching crappie, and some nice ones at that.  Catching them on bluffs and channel swings starting to move up.  They're telling me that with the lake never freezing up, the water temperature is above normal and the fish are a little ahead of schedule and they're feeding well.  Minnows or jigs tipped with minnows are best.

I've been watching the fields and the thunder chickens (a.k.a. turkeys) are everywhere.  I believe it's the best hatch in years.  There are a lot of 2-year birds, and with two mild winters and no flooding, they have flourished.  It should be an awesome season.

We're already signing kids up for the youth hunt, and it's going to be a blast.  The Missouri Deer Classic is right around the corner, and we'll be there with United Bowhunters of Missouri building PVC Bows for the kids, which is sure to be fun.  It's almost Mid-Mo Outlaws time, and they have some awesome things lined up with new players, teams and a new league, it's going to be cool.

Now for the real reason I'm here writing these blogs and living the life I live is my lovely wife Julie, my valentine for life.  She is my best friend, my lover, my soul and the air that I breathe.  She brings me up when I'm down and gives off a glow for life that is contagious.  So yes, Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry caught the best catch of his life.  I wuv you more.

Okay, enough with the mushy stuff.  Sunday is the Cole Camp Archery Shoot or California Mo. Shooters Club.  3D shoot is also on Sunday.  Thank The Big Man for the land, and the streams, and respect them as he will make no more!
