Here are your Sedalia Police crime reports, accident reports and court cases for August 28, 2012.

 

Burglary reported in the 600 block of North Grand Sunday

At 11 o’clock Sunday morning, Sedalia police took a burglary complaint from a victim in the 600 block of North Grand. According to the victim, someone ripped the basement door off to gain entry to the basement. Once in the basement, the thief or thieves stole electrical wiring, a water heater and three new Goodyear tires. The report states they also attempted to take the breaker box, but failed. There was no information on a suspect, and the value of the missing items was not in the police report.

 

Thieves steal furnishing from a residence in the 800 block of east 19th

Around 7 o’clock Monday evening Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 800 block of East 19th on a burglary, that reportedly took place sometime overnight. Upon arrival the victim told officers someone entered her unoccupied residence, and stole $860 worth of furnishings. There was no information on a possible suspects.

 

Saline County accident injures a 28-year-old St. Louis woman

Just before 10 o’clock Monday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Westbound I-70 at mile marker 67.4 in Saline County. The accident occurred as the 2006 KIA driven by 36-year-old Sarah Pancoast of Arnold, Missouri, traveled off the roadway twice before striking the median cables. The accident report states a passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Theresa Wolgast of St. Louis, received moderate injuries and was taken to the I-70 Community Hospital by Sweet Springs Ambulance for treatment.

 

Henry County accident Sunday night results in moderate injuries for a Nixa woman

At 7:03 Sunday night, the Missouri State Highway patrol reported an injury accident on Highway “7” a tenth of a mile East of County Road Northwest 221, in Henry county. The accident happened as the 2009 KIA driven by 64-year-old Marianne Morgan of Nixa attempted to make a left turn and turned into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet driven by 63-year-old Gary Lusso of Independence. Morgan received moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to Golden Valley Hospital, by Golden Valley EMS for treatment. Three people in the Lusso vehicle received minor injuries in the accident, but refused treatment at the scene. Both vehicles reportedly suffered extensive damage, and were towed from the scene.

 

Cases from Judge Robert L Koffman’s Courtroom last week

45-year-old William Fleeger of Kansas City was sentenced to serve four years in prison, after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in Judge Robert L. Koffman’s courtroom last week.

Judge Koffman sentenced 48-year-old Kent Curd of Sedalia to seven years in prison on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. The charge was a result of a search warrant served at Curd’s home in May, when he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

39-year-old Christopher Gardner of Sedalia was sentenced to serve eight years in prison last week, in Judge Koffman’s court room after pleading guilty to a charge of delivery of a controlled substance. Court documents state during a traffic stop on July the 9th, Gardner was found in possession of methamphetamine, and admitted he had delivered methamphetamine to another person shortly before he was stopped.

42-year-old Edwin Haley Jr. of Sedalia pleaded guilty to assault second degree in connection to a January 28 collision, when Haley was going the wrong way on Highway 765, and collided with another vehicle. A subsequent investigation showed Haley’s blood alcohol level was over two times the legal limit. He was sentenced to four years.
