The 13th Annual DARE Golf Tournament took place at Elm Hills Golf Course in Sedalia on Tuesday, July 9. Thirteen teams braved the high temperatures to help ensure that kids in school would get the text books and supplies that are related to the DARE program in Sedalia schools. DARE Coordinator Officer Brad Beard said that over $1800 was raised thus far, with more donations expected to come in.

There were awards given out to the top three teams: 1st place with a score of a 48 was Mike Hawk's team; 2nd place with a score of 51 was Team Starline; and Don Weaver's team came in 3rd.

There was also an award given to the last place team. They were awarded a set of knives, so they can sharpen their skills for next year.  The Sedalia Police Department Team #2, shot a score of 90.

For the record, team Townsquare Media-Sedalia, made up of Mike & Fisher Jenkins and Doug Sokolowski, scored an 80.

The Longest Drive went to Stan Knipp and Karen Brogden got closest to the pin.
