Darrell Gene Flournoy, 83, of Sedalia, Missouri, beloved Husband and Father passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp, Missouri. He was born on February 15, 1933 in Oilton, Oklahoma, the son of Joe Flournoy and Sophia Goad Flournoy, who both preceded him in death.

Darrell Flournoy was united in marriage with the true love of his life, Barbara Jean Perry, on a bright sunny day, June 22, 1956, in Long Beach, California. Barbara and their oldest daughter, Delena Flournoy Johnson sadly, preceded him in death.

Darrell was a proud member of the Salesville Bible Church in Salesville, Arkansas, where his eldest daughter and her husband served as Pastors. He spent many happy hours among that group of people sharing his faith and listening to his much beloved Blue Grass Christian Music. He spent his career as the Director of Central Supply at St. Luke’s, one of the largest hospitals in Houston Texas, and was also a proud member of the United States Air Force, where he served honorably during the Korean War.

Darrell’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the many close friends that he made at Winchester Meadows in Sedalia, Missouri. After the death of his oldest daughter and wife, Darrell moved from Arkansas to be close to his youngest daughter, Kimberly Noble. They were able to spend many precious hours together which helped to contribute to one of the happiest periods of his life. He slipped the bonds of earth a truly happy man and has rejoined his beautiful daughter, Delena Johnson, and the true love of his life, Barbara Jean Flournoy.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Noble and her husband James; a son-in-law, James Johnson; five grandsons, Jeremy Noble, Ryan Johnson, Joshua Noble, Cody Johnson, and Clint Noble; his beloved sister, Bonnie Sappington and her husband Don; and three brothers-in-law, Larry, Roy, and Ricky Perry, who he fiercely loved; He is also survived by six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters to carry on his loving legacy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Steve Schilb officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be held at a later date on a warm summer day in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Honorary bearers will be grandsons; Jeremy Noble, Ryan Johnson, Joshua Noble, Cody Johnson, and Clint Noble.

Memorial contributions may be made to his much beloved Winchester Meadows Retirement Home in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
