Daum Museum at SFCC Offers Free Special Exhibits [INTERVIEW]

The Daum Museum has been on the State Fair Community College Campus for several years now, and they do plenty of permanent exhibitions, but every now and then they offer a themed special exhibit.  Thomas Piche is the Director of the Daum, and there were two free exhibits that he came in to talk about today.

One of them is a series of huge charcoal drawings by a lady named Huguette Despault May.  These are very intense, very detailed drawings of mooring rope, something I'm sure several people are familiar with.   They also have an exhibit called "Id You Is?" which is a fun spin on west central Missourians who have self represented themselves in this format.  It has everything including paintings, watercolors, drawings and photographs, as well as sculptures in several different forms.

The Daum Museum is always free. You can go by Tuesday through Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays they're open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Piche also mentioned that you can possibly get a group together if you've got a few restless kids in the neighborhood or if you're looking for a special activity for your church group or organization, they can offer some interactive tours for the kids to get them involved.
