David Lawrence Marler, 81, of Sedalia, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born February 11, 1932, in Irondale, MO, son of Jodie and Thelma Opal Hayes Marler. On July 30, 1960, in St. Louis, he married Lorene Opal Collier, who died February 28, 2013. They were married for 52 years.

Mr. Marler retired from Alcan Cable. He was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Post 642. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his son, Scott D. Marler, of Sedalia; a stepson, Gene Winch (Mage), of Farmington; a stepdaughter, Sue Morales (Ray), of Plano, TX; a brother, Harold, of Farmington; two sisters, Betty and Brenda, both of St. Louis; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at Heckart Funeral Home.
