Delbert Wagenknecht, 79, of Stover, MO passed away June 22, 2015 at Golden Age Living Center.  He was born on September 6, 1935 in Stover, MO, a son of Arthur and Florence (Hering) Wagenknecht, who both preceded him in death.

On December 24, 1952 in Pettis County, he was united in marriage to Shirley Thomas, who survives of the home.

Delbert worked for Town & Country Shoes from 1956 until their closing, and then worked for Devon Park Shoe Company, followed by Orvis Gokey Co., Tipton, MO.  He served his country honorably in the US Army,  from 1957 to 1959, stationed in Fort Hood, TX and Crailsheim, Germany.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lee Wagenknecht (Kim) and Mark Wagenknecht (Becky); one daughter, Lynne Reed (Dave Crouch) all of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Jared, Adam, Molly, Emma, Clay, Joel and Noah.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Wagenknecht; two sisters, Maxine Bottcher - Heimsoth, and Dorothy Dieckman; and two grandsons, Grant Wagenknecht and Nathan Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 26, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Edward Brown officiating.

There will be no family visitation.

Burial will be at Salem Cemetery, Smithton, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Salem Cemetery or Maplewood Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
