DeLong’s Manufacturing in Sedalia Announces Expansion

At 10:00 this morning (September 27), the Sedalia Pettis County Economic Development Office held a press conference to announce the expansion of DeLong’s Manufacturing Inc., located at 131 South Harding.  DeLong’s Manufacturing has specialized in bridges, producing nearly 100 per year in over 25 states since 1944.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Bachta announced that the company will expand the business by building a new 12,320 foot building on the northeast corner of Harding and Harvey, just across the street from the present facility.

The $1.5 million investment will result in 20 new full-time jobs at DeLong’s, which Bachta says will be 90% local hires. Bachta also said he expects a new stand-alone operation will be up and running by the beginning of 2013.

At the time of the press conference, bulldozers were clearing trees at the  appr0oximately five acre site.
