The annual dessert auction and dinner at the Sedalia Senior Center will take place December 21 beginning at 5 p.m. The auction and dinner is a fundraiser for the home-delivered meals program for Pettis County seniors.

"This is going to support our meals program for home-bound seniors," said Brenda Moore, Pettis County Services Director at the Sedalia Senior Center. "Right now we are creeping up on 150 people that are receiving home-delivered meals from the Senior Center. We've still got a little bit of a waiting list...so I'm doing as much fundraising as I can so I can get all of those folks on meals."

The menu for tonight's dinner includes pulled pork, scalloped potatoes and baked beans for a free-will donation. The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and the dessert auction will follow at 6 p.m.

"We get donated desserts. Some beautiful things are brought it," said Moore. "It's a perfect time to come in and get something really fancy and really pretty. We have one of the senior housing complexes in town that has always gotten a group together and they do a lot of cookie trays and fudge trays."

The Sedalia Senior Center is at 312 South Washington.
