Sedalia Police Reports 11-19-16

Dollar General, 713 E. Broadway, reported that the store was robbed at gunpoint Friday night around 9:39 p.m. According to the report, a subject entered the business, demanding money. He then left on foot. An investigation is ongoing, the report said.

Also on Friday night, Sedalia Police took a report of a robbery that occurred in the Sedalia Wal-Mart parking lot, 3201 W. Broadway, between 7:15 and 7:25 p.m. Taken were $140 in cash, two cell phones (valued at $100), and a wallet containing employment ID.

Jeremy J. Beamon, 26, homeless, was arrested for probation violation out of Cooper County after Sedalia Police were called to Comfort Inn, 3600 W. Broadway, at 1:19 a.m. Saturday about a man acting crazy and trying to get into the lobby and behind the clerk's desk. Officers observed that we was cold and not wearing a coat. It was later determined that he was on methamphetamine. Beamon was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $4500 bond ($2,000 of that was cash only). He has a court date of Dec. 19.

Police took a theft from vehicle report at 12:37 a.m. Saturday at the Sedalia Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway. The theft occurred between 9:50 and 9:55 p.m. Friday night. Taken were a gray Under Armour drawstring bag ($50), a pair of State Fair Community College Spirit Squad uniform pants ($35) and stick of deodorant.

Christopher D. McKinzie 34, was arrested for 3rd degree Domestic Assault at 4:13 a.m. Saturday. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Samuel J. Seales, 29, Sedalia, was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear. He was transferred to Pettis County From Cooper County. Seals was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $90.50 bond and a court date of Dec. 14.

Hilda Mae Tomerlin, 18, Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Synthetic Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after officers checked on a vehicle at Katy Park, 2200 S. Grand, after midnight. The arrest took place at 1:24 a.m. Tomerlin was one of the occupants of the vehicle. She was found with a controlled substance on her after she was transported to the Pettis County Jail. The owner of the car was also arrested, the report said.

Jaren William Town, 26, Sedalia, was arrested for assault Thursday after he allegedly threatened someone with physical harm at Katy Park, 2200 S. Grand. Town was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $533.50 bond and a Jan. 11 court date.

Maria Guadalupe Arechiga, 17, was arrested near 5th and Osage at 1:21 a.m. Friday after a traffic stop for a defective headlight. She was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia after a probable cause search was conducted and the marijuana was located. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold.

Faustino Vasquez, 47, was arrested for no valid operator's license and supplying false information to police after a traffic stop Wednesday on a Ford Taurus for speeding through the Horace Mann School Zone. According to the report, Vasquez presented a Mexican ID card to police, which turned out to be invalid. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and fingerprinted for positive identification.

Kelly S. Robbins, Jr., 56, Lebanon, was arrested after a traffic stop near 16th and Marshall for speeding through the Whittier School Zone Wednesday morning. He had an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Laclede County. Robbins was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $75 bond with a court date of Nov. 28.

Nathaniel Kimball Veale, 24, Sedalia, was arrested at 4th and Limit Thursday evening after a traffic stop. He was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Veale was issued a Municipal summons and released.

Dillon Dwayne Mallonee, 22, Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after Sedalia Police said the driver hit a parked car in the 1400 block of S. Stewart at 3:37 a.m. Mallonee was found to be intoxicated. He was booked and released with a Jan. 11 court date.

Police took a report Wednesday morning involving damage to a property owned by a landlord who was remodeling a house in the 1200 block of S. Missouri. Taken were a heating stove, refrigerator, over and wire, collectively valued at $5,000. In addition, $1,000 of damage was done to the back door and window, the report said. There are no suspects.
Champion Bicycles, 600 E. 3rd Street, reported on Wednesday morning that someone damaged the handle to the front door at the business, but entry was not gained, the report said.

RBS Trucking, 601 N. Park, reported vandalism and thefts to several vehicles on the lot Thursday morning.

Pam McGrath reported that someone damaged her wall Monday around 3:30 p.m. A white Nissan Armada was driving south of Quincy when it made a left turn (east) into the alley and sideswiped a stone wall. He then parked the car at 911 W. 7th Street. McGrath said she wants her wall fixed.

Parkview Estates, 1300 E. 24th, reported the theft of food and other donated items from the business on Thursday evening.

Two abandoned bicycles were found near 18th and Summit Thursday night. The bikes were taken to the SPD's bike shed.

A wallet was turned into police Monday morning, which was found by a student walking to school at Smith-Cotton Junior High near Broadway and Stewart. The wallet was placed into evidence.

And on Saturday, the Pettis County Sheriff's Office has reported that an asault took place in the 1300 block of E. Boonville Road. An investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, deputies took a report of illegal dumping in the area of South Grand Ave.
