Donna M. Ragar, 61

Donna M. Ragar, 61, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday morning, July 14, 2014, at the University Hospitals and Clinics, Columbia, Mo.

She was born August 12, 1952, in Sweet Springs, Mo., the daughter of Leon Henry Richard Bartels and Leota Fawn (Brown) Bartels. On February 20, 1969, at the Presbyterian Church, in Green Ridge, Mo., she married Monty Ragar, and he survives of the home.

Donna worked for a short time in Independence, Mo., as a beauty operator before moving to Windsor.  Donna loved life and her family and enjoyed doing many different things throughout her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, sewing her own clothes and making her own jewelry, cooking, playing bingo and poker. Donna also played the piano and the saxophone. She was a sophisticated lady and always made people feel special when they entered her home and sometimes gave them something she had made before leaving especially at special times of the year. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Windsor; and VFW Auxiliary Clinton Post 194.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sisters, Janice E. Johnson and her husband, Ronnie, Windsor, Mo.; Shirley M. Coffey, and her husband Randy, and Carol A. Tylar and her husband, Ron, both of Green Ridge, Mo.; 3 sisters-in-law, Cathy Bartels, Green Ridge, Mo.; Rita Baslee, Sedalia, Mo.; Carol Wamsley, Moberly, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Mike Ragar and his wife Merle (Donna’s 4th sister-in-law), Sedalia, Mo.; an uncle, Calvin Brown, Warrensburg, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews and her special dog, Coconut.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery, rural Green Ridge, Mo. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
