Dorothy Elaine Alpers, 81, of Cole Camp, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp, MO.  She was born on October 5, 1933, in Normal, Illinois, a daughter of Samuel and Laura (Hulvey) Bayles.

On September 4, 1954, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Wallace Martin Alpers of Dwight, IL.  He preceded her in death on August 23, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa, IL, and a lifetime member of R. L. Nims VFW Auxiliary Post 9787 in Fairbury, IL. In May of 2009, she moved to Cole Camp, MO.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Martin Alpers and grandson, Jordan Trevor Alpers, both of Olathe, KS.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Spence Cemetery, south of Fairbury, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, MO, or St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Chenoa, IL, in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
