Around 10:42 Tuesday night Sedalia Police Officers stopped a Jeep SUV for a traffic violation in the 4000 block of South Limit Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 25-year-old Nathaniel D. Harvey of Sedalia. The police report also states a juvenile was in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

While speaking to Harvey the officers reportedly smelled the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. A K9 Unit conducted a sniff of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor at numerous locations according to the report. A detailed search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of Marijuana and Cash, along with Drug Paraphernalia, and suspected synthetic Marijuana called (K2). The police report states officers located just over 5-pounds of brick-form Marijuana, which according to the press release is one of the largest Marijuana seizure in Sedalia Police Department history.

As a result of the traffic stop, Detectives and the Drug Enforcement Unit applied for and received a search warrant for Harvey’s residence at 2850 South Ingram Avenue, Lot 35. The warrant was executed on the residence around 1am this (Wednesday) morning. A detailed search of the residence revealed packaging materials and supplies, several ounces of Synthetic Marijuana (K2), and controlled prescription medication ( Zolpidem Tartrate-Schedule 4 Controlled Substance).

The Press release also states the forfeiture of Harvey’s Jeep Cherokee and Cash that was seized is being requested.

Harvey was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending the filing of the following charges.
Possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute
Possession of Marijuana (Felony)
Possession of Imitation/Synthetic Drugs with the intent to distribute
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Controlled Prescription Medication)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Child Endangerment 1st Degree
Unlawful Transaction with a Child
