According to a press release from the Sedalia Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit, at 6:33am on Wednesday the 2nd of September Detectives and Officers with the Sedalia Police Department served a knock and announce drug related warrant at 1802 South Harrison. The press release states there was no answer to the knock, and after a reasonable amount of time the door was forced open. Once inside the officers detained two adults without incident. A K9 Team was deployed in the home, and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor throughout the residence. A search of the residence revealed measurable amounts of both high and low grade marijuana, drug packaging material/supplies, drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun, and cash, that is suspected to be profits from marijuana sales. Arrested at the scene was 31-year-old Jessica M. Valentine of Sedalia. The press release states charges of Felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute (Marijuana), Felony possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana), Felony: Unlawful possession of a firearm, and Misdemeanor: possession of drug paraphernalia. The report states bond on the charges has been set at $50,000.
