Dwight Allen Strange, Sr., 70, of Sedalia, died Saturday March 28, 2015 at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born January 31, 1945, in Sedalia, Missouri son of Dwight Edward and Edna Shephard Strange. On March 31, 1972, in Sedalia, Missouri he married Freida Mae Richardson who survives of the home.

Mr. Strange was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church where he taught high school boys Sunday School Class. He received a Diploma of Bible Course from Liberty University in Virginia and worked with the jail outreach program and with the Gidion's.

Early in life he worked for Hudson Gas Station, Sedalia Structural Steel and Delongs before opening Al's Portable Welding in 1976. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles with his brother and friends and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his wife Freida Strange of the home; two sons, Allen Strange and his wife, Melinda of Sedalia; Jeff Strange and his wife Neena, Hughesville; a daughter, Lana Strange, Sedalia; a brother, Perry Strange and wife Sally, Moore Oklahoma; a sister Brenda Cramer and husband Rick, of Sedalia; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Ewing Schutte Semler Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Bowen and Pastor Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 31, 2015 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Brooks, Daryl Johnson, Kyle Myers, Wes Keele, Donald Defosse and Wayne Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Edwards, Brent Parker, Jon Wise, Bill Martin, Terry Cramer, Bryant Cramer, Daniel Richardson, Gentry Richardson, Cody Richardson and Michia Richardson.
