Edwards Resigns, Shaw Named Interim City Administrator
Sedalia City Administrator Gary Edwards has submitted his resignation
effective September 22, 2017.
Edwards, who has been City Administrator for over six years, has accepted the City Management position in Aransas Pass, Texas on the Gulf shore.
“I’m leaving Sedalia knowing that there is a great Community, Mayor and Council and City Staff here. Much has been accomplished in the past six years,” said Edwards, “but only because everyone worked together."
Edwards further pointed out that a community thrives when it has a Mayor and Council that work well together, and that certainly is the case in Sedalia.
Finance Director Kelvin Shaw will serve as Interim City Administrator until a permanent person is found.
A national search is now underway. It is anticipated that a new City Administrator will begin in late 2017 or early 2018.
