Eileen P. Longan, 89, of Sedalia, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born November 15, 1923, in Smithton, a daughter of the late William H.L. and Pearl A. (Monsees) Kahrs. On July 27, 1945, in Sedalia, she was married to Robert N. Longan, who preceded her in death on November 5, 1985.

Mrs. Longan attended elementary school in Smithton and was a 1941 Smith-Cotton High School graduate. She attended the Sedalia Business College and worked for Pettis County Farm Bureau and Extension Service. After marriage, she was a homemaker, raising their three children, and later began her real estate career. For 18 years she was Realtor/Broker/Broker Salesperson, and was a Lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club.

She was a member of First Christian Church for over 60 years and an original member of the Home Builders Sunday School Class. She was active in the community and served on the Board of Directors of Read Apartments and Liberty Apartments. She served over 20 years as Community and Project Leader of the Brown 4-H Club. She was a member of the Brown Women’s Club for more than 70 years.

She is survived by two sons, Robert K. and Beulah Longan, of Windsor, Neil E. and Lorraine Longan, of Sedalia; and one daughter, Susan L. and Dorsie Scott of Richland; three grandsons, Joe Scott, David Scott and Blake Longan; two granddaughters, Nichole Gentges and Rachael Jenkins; three great-grandchildren, Aison, Aidrey and Abigail; four step-grandchildren, Jim, Tim, Amber, and Alex; and four step great-grandchildren, Josh, Kristy, Jayden and Peyton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Shelby Kahrs and Raymond Kahrs; and a step-granddaughter, Robin Martin.

A memorial service will be at 2 pm, November 16, 2013, at First Christian Church with Rev. Chad McMullin officiating. Visitation will be from 1 pm until service time in the church library.
