At 8:05 Tuesday night the last of the votes were counted for Pettis County’s 20 precincts with Republicans enjoying a clean sweep of the races. While most of the races in the county Tuesday night were un-contested there were a few contested races to keep people focused on the results, but it was obvious early on that the Democrats, Libertarians, and the Constitution Parties would have to wait until the next election for their chance at office. The vote was strong for the incumbents in the state wide races, with Missouri State Representative Vickie Hartzler garnering 71.96 percent of the vote in Pettis County. State Auditor Tom Schweich also a Republican received the nod from Pettis County Voters with 76.28% of the vote here. Dean Dohrman the incumbent Republican Representative for the 51st  District ended up with 78.10% of the vote in Pettis County and Denny Hoskins incumbent Missouri State Representative for the 54th District took 86.28% of the vote in Pettis County. Two closely watched races in Pettis County was the three person race for Associate Circuit Judge Division 6, and the run for Pettis County Presiding Commissioner. Prosecuting Attorney for Pettis County, Jeff Mittlehauser won the Judgeship handily with  55.50% of the vote while his two opponents received just over 20% each. David Dick the republican candidate for Pettis County presiding Commissioner out distanced his Democratic opponent 71.98% to 27.86% to win that race. There were also several Constitutional Amendments on the ballot. Amendment 2 received 76.34% yes vote in the county, and Amendment 10 also passed in the county with 58.03% of the yes vote. Amendment 6 was voted down by the county with 74.68% of the vote. Controversial Amendment 3 received the largest no vote in Pettis County with a 79.83% of the voters rejecting the Amendment.
