Elizabeth Meyers, 88, of rural Green Ridge, Missouri, died Thursday morning, June 19, 2014, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Mo.

She was born August 30, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of John Russell Way and Bessie Fairy (Friedly) Way. On February 17, 1944, at the Olathe Naval Base in Kansas City, Kansas, she married Wallace Windle Meyers, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2007.

Mrs. Meyers was a homemaker and farm wife.  She worked at Vendo Company in Kansas City, Mo., the Windsor International Shoe Factory for 10 years, and at Interstate Studios, in Sedalia, Mo., for 14 years before her retirement. Elizabeth was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church. She attended, with her husband Wallace, and was active in the Antioch Baptist Church, Manila, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years.

Survivors include a son, John Wallace “Johnny” Meyers and his wife Sharon, Green Ridge, Mo.; 2 daughters, Joyce Elaine Elliott and her husband, Charles, Ionia, Mo.; Janice Sue Mahin and her husband Thomas, LaMonte, Mo.; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, Manila, 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4:00 p.m., at the Antioch Baptist Church, Manila, with Rev. Mark Abney officiating. Friends may call Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
